Description from the seller
Claudio Rolfi, born in Genoa in 1960. From his early works you can already notice the great fascination that Italian art of the 20th century has managed to exert on him, with masters such as Casorati, Morandi, Carrà, and de Chirico. In his forty-year career as an artist there are more than seventy solo exhibitions and innumerable artistic events, including TV programs dedicated entirely to him. The Maestro Rolfi’s artistic work has been discussed by the most important newspapers and television and radio stations. Among the most significant events is the grand exhibition Centoeventigiorni held in Santa Maria degli Angeli, Rome, in 2002, inaugurated in the presence of Mrs. Franca Ciampi and Walter Veltroni; the exhibition at the Dopmiziano museum in Rome; the solo show at Mondadori in Milan; the exhibition at the Palazzo della Cultura in Reggio Calabria; and BAM Baveno Arte Maggiore presented by Vittorio Sgarbi. The Maestro’s paintings have been used for about six years as the scenery for the GEO program on Rai 3.
His works are present in many Italian collections, in the United States, Japan, Canada, and throughout the rest of Europe.
The painting depicts a hot air balloon, a recurring theme from the artist that for several years has been used for the GEO set designs on Rai 3. With this subject he expresses lightness and the natural metaphysical aspect of the balloons, to the point of nicknaming them "the jellyfish of the air". The work is provided with a signed and stamped Certificate of Authenticity and shipped by FedEx courier.
Oil painting with mixed media on stretched panel.
