Jimi Hendrix - Rainbow Bridge (EU) - OFFICIAL 2014 Bernie Grundman REMASTER - 180G AUDIOPHILE VINYL - FACTORY - LP - 2014

An exceptional factory-sealed copy of the official 2014 Bernie Grundman remaster of Rainbow Bridge by Jimi Hendrix on Legacy Recordings (88843096421).

Released in 1971, Rainbow Bridge stands among the most fascinating albums in Jimi Hendrix's posthumous discography. Arriving just one year after the guitarist's tragic death, it offered listeners another extraordinary glimpse into the ambitious musical direction Hendrix had been exploring during his final recording sessions. Compiled by legendary engineer Eddie Kramer alongside Mitch Mitchell and John Jansen, the album draws primarily upon recordings from 1969 and 1970, when Hendrix was moving beyond the psychedelic sound of The Jimi Hendrix Experience towards a richer combination of funk, blues and experimental rock. The result is a remarkable collection of eight performances, including the explosive Dolly Dagger, the powerful Earth Blues, the magnificent instrumental Pali Gap and the hauntingly beautiful Hey Baby (New Rising Sun). One of the album's greatest highlights is the extraordinary live rendition of Hear My Train A Comin', recorded at Berkeley Community Theatre on 30 May 1970. Interestingly, despite the album's original motion picture soundtrack designation, this performance was not recorded at Hendrix's celebrated Maui concert featured in the film.

This edition represents the authorised Experience Hendrix / Legacy Recordings reissue of Rainbow Bridge, returning this historic album to vinyl with its original artwork and track sequence faithfully restored. Most importantly for audiophile collectors, the album was remastered by the legendary Bernie Grundman directly from the original analogue master tapes. Grundman, one of the most respected mastering engineers in recorded music, has worked on countless landmark albums throughout his career. His involvement makes this an especially appealing modern edition for listeners who appreciate carefully prepared vinyl reissues. The release is presented in its original-style gatefold artwork, faithfully recalling the distinctive presentation of the 1971 album.
