Fabio Costantino (1945) - Rosa acceso sulla costa

Fabio Costantino – “Rosa acceso sulla costa” –

The coastal landscape takes shape through a free, synthesized painting, in which color defines volumes, distances, and atmosphere. On the right, a group of houses lines the slope in a succession of white, ochre, and pinkish façades, traversed by deep blue shadows. The mountainous profiles retreat toward the horizon through various gradations of blue, creating a wide opening to the sea. Small sails emerge on the light surface of the bay, suggested with a few essential marks. In the foreground, a pink and magenta bloom concentrates the energy of the composition, engaging in dialogue with dark greens and with the white brushstrokes of the lower band. The alternation between recognizable zones and more abstract passages makes the view immediate and vibrant, entrusting the chromatic matter with the task of evoking the light and the breath of the coast.
