Description from the seller
Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch (From the Moon to Mars) ref. 35775000 in brand-new, never-worn condition, still with the sticker underneath as highlighted by the photo. Complete with box and official full-set warranty. The Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch "From the Moon to Mars" (ref. 3577.50.00) is a numbered edition; each piece bears its own progressive serial number on the case back. Since Omega does not officially release production data for these numbered series, there is no definitive figure to 100%. However, experts and the collector community estimate that over its entire production run (about 2004 to 2012), roughly 6,000 pieces were made in total. The Omega Speedmaster Professional "From the Moon to Mars" was unveiled in 2004 at the Baselworld watch fair.
The watch was produced to celebrate and commemorate NASA’s new space exploration plans announced at that time. At the beginning of 2004, indeed, the United States government proclaimed a new and ambitious vision for the aerospace future, which included: returning humans to the Moon with the construction of a permanent space base; using the Moon as a stepping-stone launchpad for future crewed missions directed toward Mars. Omega, closely tied to NASA since the Apollo missions of 1969, wanted to pay homage to this ideal “space relay” by personalizing the Moonwatch dial: the three traditional chronograph counters carry photorealistic prints of the Earth, the Moon, and Mars, graphically symbolizing the planned journey to the Red Planet.
I point out that this model, being a New Old Stock, has a current value far higher than a used watch of the same model; in my view this clearly unique piece on the web is a true investment for Omega collectors. It is, again, virtually impossible to find in new condition. Shipping is tracked and insured. I do not ship outside Europe.
