Description from the seller
Master Sarnari, a member of the Scicli group, has been one of the leading figures of contemporary painting in Sicily and in the world. The graphics presented here were printed using the “digital calcography” technique, a wholly original method invented by me personally in my Comiso print shop “seristampa,” where the engraving technique mixes with the digital. The first pass is printed with an HP 3200 plotter, after having worked together with the artist on the computer; once printed, it is determined where to intervene with aquatint, etching, and dry point to give body and material to the composition, then printed in engraving with a hand press. This technique allowed the artist to make points of light and matter emerge in order to make the image vibrate and render it chromatically perfect. In this case, Master Sarnari was interested in color, light, and shadow. http://www.ilgruppodiscicli.it/
