Description from the seller
Franco Polizzi was born in Scicli. A small Baroque town in the province of Ragusa that he would leave at a very young age to enroll in the School of Art in Siracusa. It is here that the artist’s desire to express the Mediterranean influences, the colors and the emotions of his native places begins to take shape. After obtaining the diploma in 1973, Polizzi continues his journey at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, which he completes brilliantly, making the most of the teachings of masters such as Carmelo Zotti and Edmondo Bacci. These are the years in which he participates in the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation art showcases, the years of his first successes propelled by the favorable wind of his first solo show in Venice. And here is the leap, in 1975. Polizzi’s paintings are accepted at the X Quadriennale d’Arte in Rome. Currently the artist lives and works in Scicli; the graphic presented here is the result of a process called “Digital-calcography,” whose peculiarity lies in an initial digital pass and subsequent calcography to convey the tactile value of the work.
technique of execution "Digital-calcography" a first pass in digital and others in calcography
