Description from the seller
Franco Polizzi was born in Scicli, a small Baroque town in the province of Ragusa, which he left at a very young age to enroll in the School of Art of Siracusa. It is here that the artist begins to form the desire to express the Mediterranean influences, the colors and the emotions of his native lands. After obtaining his diploma, in 1973, Polizzi continues his adventure at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, which he completes brilliantly, taking to heart the teachings of masters such as Carmelo Zotti and Edmondo Bacci. These are the years in which he participates in the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation art reviews, the years of his first successes propelled by the favorable wind of his first solo show in Venice. And here is the leap, in 1975. Polizzi's paintings were accepted at the X Quadriennale d’Arte in Rome. Currently the artist lives and works in Scicli; the graphic presented here is executed with a “Digital-etching” technique, the peculiarity of this method lies in a first digital pass and others in etching to convey the tactile value of the work.
