Eugenio Carmi (1920-2016) - Composizione geometrica

The work belongs to the full artistic maturity of Eugenio Carmi, one of the leading figures in Italian abstraction and structural and geometric art in the second half of the 20th century.
Created in 1984, this work on paper bears witness to his careful exploration of the balance of primary forms and the perception of color. The composition is built around a semicylinder/semicircle divided into balanced color fields (shades of gray, light blue, pink, and deep red), set within a minimalist geometric structure in neutral tones. The transparent use of color on paper reveals the formal delicacy typical of his graphic and applied works of the 1980s.
