Giuseppe Mucci’s signed original acrylic painting “Vesuvius” (2006) depicts a colourful volcanic landscape in a contemporary style.
Description from the seller
Suggestive original vertical-format painting created in 2006 by Master Giuseppe Mucci, entitled "Vesuvius".
The work reinterprets in a contemporary and pop-symbolist key the iconic silhouette of Vesuvius and Mount Somma facing the Gulf. The composition is punctuated in the background by horizontal color bands with strong visual impact: at the base the deep shades of marine blue reflect the volcanic profile, while upward the sky lights up in a geometric progression of yellows, oranges, reds and earthy browns.
From the crater rises a powerful central eruptive column, characterized by a dynamic and tactile painting technique: relief drips and fluid color intertwinings in tones of bright red, orange, yellow, blue and white create a fascinating three-dimensional effect that contrasts with the flat handling of the background. Sinous gray-blue lines wrap the central plume giving vertical thrust and movement to the entire scene.
Details of authenticity and conservation status:
Front: Signed at bottom right "G. Mucci".
Back: Hand-titled at the top ("- VESUVIUS -") with large central autograph signature. At bottom right there is the official stamp "OPERA ESEGUITA DAL MAESTRO GIUSEPPE MUCCI" with further autograph and execution date "04/06/06".
Condition: The painting presents an excellent conservational state, on original wooden frame equipped with hanger/thread on the back, ready for wall display.
