Description of the work:
An important painting by the Informal master Giuseppe De Gregorio, a prominent figure in Italian painting of the second half of the 20th century and a key member of the “Spoleto Group” (alongside masters such as Marignoli, Raspi, and Orneore Metelli), active alongside the international Informal movements championed by Lionello Venturi.
The work, titled Alberi (Trees), as indicated by the handwritten inscription on the reverse of the canvas, fully expresses the artist’s textural, naturalistic, and structured style: forest-green, earth, and black tones intertwine in a dense network of lines, scratches, and overlapping colors, breaking up the view of the wooded landscape into a poetic abstraction of great visual impact and elegance.
A clear signature appears at the lower right, with the title inscribed on the reverse. The painting is presented in a large, elegant, period passe-partout frame with colored molding.
The frame shown in the photographs is included as a courtesy and does not form an integral part of the artwork. Any damage to the frame will not be grounds for complaints or order cancellations.
