Description from the seller
Paolo Contin
Deep Blue Light
" An abstract work that explores the dialogue between light and darkness, where geometric shapes overlap in a dynamic balance, creating an intense and profound composition. The blue tones, from turquoise to midnight blue, evoke a suspended atmosphere, like a light emerging from the dark. In the painting, deliberately glossy and brilliant areas realized with more intense paints coexist with opaque and tactile areas that create a sense of depth and movement, enhancing the contrasts and the chromatic richness of the surface. A work that invites the viewer to imagine spaces, horizons, and new interpretations "

PAOLO CONTIN has for more than twenty-five years developed a personal artistic path in constant evolution. Trained in design and active since 1980 in the fashion world, he transfers to painting a particular sensitivity to color, form, and compositional balance.
Since 1999 he has been exhibiting his works, and in 2002 he held his first solo show in Padua. This was followed by numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, with presencia in Copenhagen, Munich, Paris, Brussels, Istanbul, Buenos Aires, and Sydney.
Paolo Contin’s artistic journey is also documented by his presence in the Catalogo dell' Arte Mondadori with related valuations. Over the years his works have also been published in Arte Mondadori magazine and in numerous catalogs and volumes produced for solo shows and major Art Fairs, some of which published with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute.
He was also among the founding members of " Tostart ", an artistic association born from the meeting of ten Veneto artists and active until the pandemic period.
A versatile and independent artist, Contin has built over the years a recognizable language, distant from belonging to a single school or tendency. His research traverses geometric abstraction, matter-based and gestural painting, alterning rigor and expressive freedom. Lines, blocks, geometric shapes, and intense chromatic relationships become elements of a vocabulary through which he investigates balance, movement, and emotion.
Experimentation also extends to sculpture and wood, with works built through the layering of geometric elements, confirming a search that goes beyond painting alone.
His work continues to evolve today without predefined formulas: every piece is born from the will to preserve freedom, identity, and expressive authenticity.
