Elio Lazzari (1942) - Burano

Elio Lazzari (Venezia, 1942) is one of the best-known contemporary Venetian painters, appreciated for his evocative views of the lagoon and everyday Venetian life. Defined by critics as “one of the last great Venetian vedutists,” he has exhibited in important Italian and international venues, including New York, Washington and Luxembourg. His works are present in numerous private collections and represent an authentic testimony of the Venetian painting tradition.

Affascinante veduta lagunare dedicata a Burano, una delle isole più iconiche della Venezia storica. In questa opera Elio Lazzari captures with extraordinary sensitivity the quiet of the lagoon, entrusting to light and color nuances the role of absolute protagonists.
The architectures overlook the water in an airy and balanced composition, while the boats and reflections contribute to create a suspended and poetic atmosphere. With a few essential but sure strokes, the artist conveys the magic of Venice and its islands, interpreting them through refined and immediately recognizable painting.

The work, in very good condition, is signed and bears on the back the indication of the title "Burano" and the mixed media technique used. It constitutes a representative example of Lazzari's artistic research, known for his Venetian views appreciated by Italian and international collectors.
