Interesting oil painting on a rigid support, signed Proferio Grossi and dated 1987, attributed to the Italian painter Proferio Grossi (1923–2000).

The work depicts a refined still life, characterized by the precision of the details and the illusionistic effects typical of trompe-l'œil painting.

The composition presents a woven basket containing fresh fruit, including apples, pears, bananas and bunches of grapes, accompanied by a few bananas resting on the surface and a transparent glass.

Particularly interesting is the realistic rendering of materials: the weave of the basket, the glossy surfaces of the fruit, and the transparency of the glass are represented through an accurate study of light and shadows.
