The 2008 Omega Speedmaster Alaska Project Limited Edition is a 42 mm stainless-steel watch with a white dial, manual-winding movement and fabric strap, produced in a run of 1,970.
Description from the seller
An exceptional Omega Speedmaster Alaska Project Limited Edition is for sale, one of the only 1,970 pieces produced in 2008 to honor the historic NASA prototypes called the “Alaska Project,” developed during the Apollo era.
This piece is in excellent condition and presents exceptionally. It is like-new; on the white strap the inscription has peeled off (see photo) but nothing is broken or damaged. Note: full set watch with authenticity stamp from the historic Via Montenapoleone boutique in Milan. The stainless steel bracelet appears never to have been mounted on the watch.
Included:
- Original Alaska Project thermal shield
- Original Omega box and packaging
- Original stainless steel bracelet (unmounted)
- Original white Velcro strap long and short
- Additional authentic Omega strap (sealed)
- All pictured accessories.
The watch features the striking matte white dial with black indices and red chronograph hand, exclusive to the Alaska Project, powered by Omega’s legendary manual-wind movement.
Conditions:
- Crystal: excellent
- Case: excellent with well-defined edges
- Dial and hands: excellent
- Bracelet: never used, still sealed
- Box/accessories: like new
On the small white strap, a portion of the “speedmaster” inscription has come off, visible only up close.
This is one of the more sought-after modern Speedmaster limited editions by collectors, and it has become increasingly difficult to find a complete specimen, particularly with an intact bracelet and original accessories.
The watch runs and the chronograph starts, stops, and resets as it should; it has never been worn, only tested, and has never been serviced.
