Description from the seller
Lucio Dalla and the Idols (1966)
This image represents a precious document: the first official photograph of the group with Lucio Dalla, a moment that captures the birth of an artistic collaboration destined to leave a mark in the history of Italian light music. The shot was taken in 1966 by photographer Franco Turcati, at the famous Dancing Lutrario (Le Roi) in Turin, one of the liveliest and most fascinating venues of the era, a reference point for the city’s musical and cultural scene.
In the portrait you can feel the energy of a creative season in ferment, with Lucio Dalla still at the beginning but already endowed with a magnetic stage presence and a musical personality in constant evolution. The Idols, with their arrangements and their tight sound, represent a fundamental launching pad for the Bologna-born artist, who in those years was seeking his own personal stylistic signature, destined to mature in a remarkable way in the following decade.
Type of print
