Description from the seller
“The Pink Palace” is a 100 × 70 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García.
The work represents a palatial garden viewed through a succession of arches and columns in pink tones. The architecture takes on a leading role and functions as a large frame that guides the eye toward the interior of the garden, where paths, vegetation, flowers and new arcades appear that visually extend the space.
The composition is built around a pronounced central perspective. The stone path begins in the foreground and advances toward the background, creating depth and guiding the viewer between the columns. The repetition of arches establishes an architectural rhythm that contrasts with the freer, more organic shapes of trees and shrubs.
The palette is particularly characteristic for its combination of powder pinks, deep greens and stone tones. The walls and capitals take on various shades of pink, salmon and earth, while the vegetation introduces a wide range of greens that brings freshness and brightness to the scene. Small orange accents in the flowers subtly break the chromatic harmony.
The brushwork remains visible and loose, especially in the vegetation and stone surfaces, distancing the image from a strictly academic representation. The expressive treatment of color and the simplification of certain forms introduce echoes of Fauvist tradition, though here used in a softer and more atmospheric range.
“The Pink Palace” transforms an architectural space into a scene of serenity and discovery. The succession of arches invites the viewer to move visually through the garden, creating the sensation of gradually entering a secluded, quiet place full of vegetation.
