In Van de Bunte's still lifes, everyday objects gain a new role. They are freed from utility and use and appear as pure forms: still, present, almost vulnerable. Through the soft light, the sober composition, and the attention to skin, scale, glass, and ceramic, a hushed world emerges in which time slows. The photographer works with the newest Hasselblad equipment and creates her photography from a studio located in a monumental building in the Hanseatic town of Kampen. Her work is presented in museums, galleries, and at art fairs.

Passionate, sensitive and with an eye for detail, light and color, would be a nice description of Ursula's approach. She is perfectionistic, enthusiastic and diligent; she will only be satisfied when the well-known WOW factor has been achieved.
With her artworks she aims to bring her subjects forward in the purest possible way. Ursula transforms objects into powerful still lifes and the portraits are a reflection of a bygone era, where from time to time a splash of modern life is incorporated.
Her work is unconventional and the use of light leans toward her sources of inspiration: the paintings of Jacques-Louis David, Rembrandt and Caravaggio.
As a photographer Ursula also seeks to distinguish herself through diversity in her work, and beside individual creations she makes series, where multiple images tell one story. She is notably discovered with her intriguing, still lifes: the series Plastic Vegetables and the series House-4-Sale. These works have been awarded with various prizes, among them for the series “de 100 van Rooyackers.”
