Description
Jacques Prévert / Brassaï - Paroles - 1945
Poetry - Quantity: 1 - Book
Paris, Éditions du Point du Jour, coll. “Le Calligraphe”, 1945; small quarto, softcover. The first and masterful collection of Prévert's poetry, compiling all of the texts he had published from 1929 onwards in various avant-garde magazines. It was René Bertelé, the former director of "Confluences" and new editor at "Point du Jour", who managed to convince Prévert to unite them in a volume. The choice of Brassaï for the cover design, reproducing a photograph from the Graffiti series in heliogravure, fits perfectly with the innovative freshness of this poetry gleaned from street corners, pavements and countertops.
