Striking and repeating Carriage Clock in a Gorge Case

A small 19th Century striking and repeating carriage clock in a classic gilt Gorge case circa 1860.

The two train movement striking on a silvered bell, is regulated by an lever platform escapement, the crisp white enamel dial is unblemished with Roman hours, the gilt case having thick bevelled glass throughout.

The clock strikes full hour on both full and half hour automatically. When using the repeat button, the clock strikes the hours.

The clock is in working order and is delivered with winding key.

Occasionally, two different bidders may show up in the bidding history with the same bid amount. This occurs when one user's bid is exactly the same as an automatic (maximum) bid placed by another user earlier. Since the auto-bid was placed first, this takes preference. The bidding history will show both bids, with the auto-bid ranked as the higher of the two.
