DESCRIPTION

Bouddha prenant la terre à témoin de la période Konbaung, milieu du 19ème siècle, Birmanie. Il est représenté sur un trône qui symbolise le mont Meru.

La dynastie Konbaung, 1752-1885, appelée la dynastie d'Alaungpaya fut la dernière de la monarchie birmane. Elle fut fondée par Alaungpaya, un chef de village qui avait mené une rébellion contre les Môns, et succéda à la dynastie Taungû (1531-1752).

Travail d'une très grande finesse, surtout quand on imagine que cela a été réalisé avec des outils rudimentaires, la laque est d'origine et de très belle qualité, ainsi que la dorure..

Ce bouddha possède un visage serein et une expression très douce.

A l'arrière se trouve le reliquaire. 

Objet de collection mais très décoratif.

44 cm x 21 cm x 15 cm, 3,049 kgs.

LE VENDEUR

Depuis plus de 30 ans, je parcours l'Asie du Sud Est et surtout la Birmanie, pour le plaisir, pour les rencontres mais également pour collecter des objets anciens, de plus en plus difficiles à trouver. Ce bouddha a été acquis au début des années 2000 dans la région de Bagan. Jean Dumoulin.

ETAT

La statue porte les traces de son âge mais est en bon état, deux fissures au niveau du trône, côté droit (voir photos) mais elle est stable et solide.

Sera emballée avec soin, envoi assuré et traçable.
