Il est en pin avec des ferrures en fer noirci. Sa décoration, incluant des caractères chinois calligraphiés sur la partie frontale, indique qu'il a probablement été restauré et que cet élément décoratif est plus récent. 
Nous l'avons reçu de notre famille qui l'avait acquis auprès d'un antiquaire de Bruxelles.
