Description from the seller

STELLA PARSLOW
Image for the category Stella Parslow
Stella was born in 1950 in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire. Soon after, her family moved to Leighton Buzzard, where she grew up and started her own family.

Stella began painting with enamel on “Ivorine” (ivory imitation) and eggshells. Her first exhibitions took place at the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition (Miniatures Department) and at the Medici Gallery in London.
From these beginnings she intensively experimented with watercolor and gouache techniques and created a unique collection of detailed, refined works that were shown in many exhibitions.

Her love of landscapes, water and sky influenced her ideas and she developed a very idiosyncratic and distinctive style.
She has developed new techniques in recent years and, from them, inspired a collection of landscapes and contemporary abstract paintings with oil, acrylic, and metal foil paintings that demonstrate a new freedom of expression.

The public recognition of these new developments suggests that her work is among the pioneers of new trends in interior design.

In November 2013 Gallery Rouge had the honor of hosting a highly successful exhibition of Stella’s works.
