“Altura” – meaning elevation in Italian. The name reflects both its vertical elegance and the grounded presence of a classical amphora silhouette reimagined through raw, ancestral material.

This piece is a monumental sculptural vase, entirely handmade by Valentina Cojocaru in cream stoneware with 40% chamotte. Its refined silhouette is a nod to ancient forms, while the raw, unglazed surface and subtle natural firing marks root it firmly in the present. With a height of 40 cm, diameter of 32 cm, and a solid 7 kg weight, this piece commands attention as a standalone sculptural artwork. The wide, flattened rim adds a sense of tension and balance to the elongated, tapering body—crafted slowly, intuitively, entirely by hand.

The textured surface gives this vase a primal tactility, highlighting the clay’s mineral quality and the unpredictable beauty of the kiln process. It is not glazed or watertight, intended purely for dry arrangements or as an art object.
