Description from the seller
Thomas Luny (1759-1837) was an English artist from Cornwall. He was a pupil of the marine painter Francis Holman (1729–1784). Luny is mainly known for his seascapes. During his career he probably had the opportunity to be a guest on several ships that took him, among other places, to Naples, Gibraltar and Charleston (South Carolina).
Dimensions with frame: 115 x 158 cm
Dimensions without frame: 86 x 129 cm
