You are bidding on a very fine  4/4 violin, labeled Andreas Postacchini firmanus fecit sub titulo s. Raphaelis Archang. 1851.
The instrument remains in good condition with some small repaired cracks on top, new rosewood set up, new strings and new bridge. The whole length of the violin is 590 mm and the back 356 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 167 mm; middle bouts: 113 mm; lower bouts: 205 mm. 
Materials: very nice two pieces strongly flamed maple back and straight highm grained spruce top. Golden-brown varnish. 

The sound is very deep, rich, powerful.
