Art craft workshop table 1932 - Table - Solid larch & Cedar top - double side drawers - Monumental Vintage Table

This exceptional heirloom piece originates from the Ékes Glove Workshop, founded in 1883 and once among Budapest’s most renowned artisanal manufactories. Crafted in the mid-1930s, the table carries with it nearly a century of authentic workshop history. Measuring an impressive 220 × 120 × 88 cm, it features a solid larch and cedar top with a deep, naturally aged patina, bearing the marks and traces of decades of skilled handwork. Its robust construction is reinforced by a full-length lower shelf, while originally four drawers provided functional storage. Despite its age, the table remains structurally strong, stable, and fully usable. Importantly, it is presented as an heirloom furniture piece — unrestored, without wax or surface treatment, preserved in completely original condition. The wear, scratches, and signs of use add to its rustic authenticity and unique character. With its industrial heritage, scale, and timeless proportions, this rare table can be reimagined in a variety of ways: as a statement dining table for 10 an impressive kitchen island, bar counter, creative studio desk, or a striking retail display in loft or design-oriented interiors. Far more than a functional object, this monumental workbench is a testament to Budapest’s artisanal and industrial culture, uniting history, heritage, and modern design potential in one remarkable piece.
