Opera tratta dal libro Picasso lithographe ,notice et catalogue ètablis par Fernand Mourlot 1947-1949.
Fernand Mourlot è cresciuto nella tipografia di famiglia, ma è stato solo quando ha preso il controllo nei primi anni '20 che avrebbe cambiato per sempre il tessuto della stampa. La sua influenza ha favorito una rinascita della litografia, rivelandola come una nuova via di espressione e un nuovo regno di possibilità per artisti del calibro di Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Marc Chagall, Joan Miró, Georges Braque, Fernand Léger e Alberto Giacometti per arricchire il proprio lavoro e l'arte in generale. Fernand coltivò la litografia come mezzo per i pittori e lo studio di famiglia in Rue Chabrol divenne un punto di riferimento dove invitare gli artisti a lavorare direttamente sulla pietra, come se stessero creando un manifesto.Fernand si ritirò a metà degli anni '70, ma il suo nome rimane fino ad oggi sinonimo di rinascita della litografia.
