Max Papart, Épreuve d’artiste, a lithograph in original edition (1950–1960) from France, in cubist style, signed by hand and in excellent condition, 70 × 54 cm.

The artist :
Max Papart, born on December 19, 1911, in Marseille, and died on August 29, 1994, in Paris, was a French painter, engraver, illustrator, and collagist.
His work is marked by a certain sweetness of life, discreet irony, and a great sense of aesthetic beauty.
In 1933, Max Papart settled in Paris. An engraver-printer by profession, he continued to paint and study the great masters in museums. He attended all major exhibitions and galleries. He exhibited at the Salon des indépendants and began engraving in aquatint.
He died on August 29, 1994, in Paris and is buried at the Longs Réages cemetery in Meudon, almost opposite his dear and regretted Alberto Magnelli, in the shade of a Tuscan cypress in a grave made of pink granite from Brittany, his mother's homeland.

The lithograph was purchased by Sébastien Delcampe during the show 'Affaire Conclue' broadcast on June 16, 2024, on France 2. It was brought in by Christiane, who had worked in the workshop of master printer Fernand Mourlot. She was his collaborator, and upon her departure, she was able to take an object; she chose the lithograph by Max Papart.
