Description from the seller
Barbara Kunz (Austria, Contemporary Artist)
Barbara Kunz is a contemporary Austrian artist whose practice explores the tension between fragility and strength through sculptural wall reliefs. Working primarily with plaster on canvas, Kunz transforms traditional materials into meditative forms that capture the fleeting qualities of memory, silence, and transformation.
Her works are defined by tactile folds, organic contours, and surfaces that shift with light and shadow. Each relief is handmade, one-of-a-kind, and conceived as both a visual and spatial experience — inviting the viewer to pause, reflect, and find presence in stillness.
Kunz’s pieces range from pure plaster compositions to metallic-finished works, creating a dialogue between softness and solidity, fluidity and permanence.
Based in Austria, Kunz has developed a growing body of work presented through her online platform (kunzkunz.com) and held in private collections. Each artwork is signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
A sculptural wall relief shaped from hand-layered plaster on canvas, The Cloud That Remembered captures a moment of quiet movement — as if memory itself had taken form.
