Seconde édition, ou seconde émission de l'originale, parue la même année que cette dernière, de l'une des œuvres majeures de la littérature française.

Il s'agit du chef d'oeuvre de Lesage qu'il dédia à la mémoire de Luis Velez de Guevara (1579-1644), auteur de El diablo cojuelo dont il s'est inspiré. La véritable originale est d'une grande rareté. Très rapidement épuisée, l'éditeur dut en réaliser un second tirage dans lequel se trouvent seulement quelques fautes corrigées. Une anecdote rapporte que le dernier exemplaire de cette édition fut disputé en duel à l'époque entre deux jeunes seigneurs. 

Veau brun, dos à nerfs orné, tranches dorées. (reliure d'époque)
Etat : plats volants, coiffes arasées. Intérieur un peu bruni mais frais, rares piqûres sans gravité. A relier.
