This Velocette Venom Endurance Special is not an ordinary Venom Endurance.
Velocette released five Venom Endurance models with slightly different specifications than the regular Venom Endurance (also a rare sight) of that time.
Three were shipped to America, and two (with ascending engine numbers VM6038 and VM6039) to the Philippines.
The owner, who lived in the Philippines in 1966, bought one of the two and parked the motorcycle in a nice spot, without riding it further.
With the other Velocette sold in the Philippines, it was ridden around for a while, until it had an accident. The damaged motorbike was returned to Campos, the firm that imported the Velocettes, and there the owner of this example, which is now up for auction, bought the engine block, gearbox and several loose parts from it, which accompany this motorcycle.
In fact, this amounts to 1.5 very rare Velocette motorcycles.
