You are bidding on a very fine 4/4 violin, labeled Giuseppe Ornati fece in Milano Anno 1960 G.O.M G.Ornati. The instrument is in ready to play condition with no cracks.
The violin has an excellent straight high grained spruce of the top and two pieces back of strongly flamed maple with matched sides and scroll. The purfling is professionally executed and the edges are masterfully done. The original varnish of reddish color remains in good condition. The whole length of the violin is 586 mm and the back 354 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 166 mm; middle bouts: 112 mm; lower bouts: 204 mm. The sound of this instrument is of a charming character, rich, warm, sweet and beautiful colors, depth and great carrying power. Don't hesitate to contact me for any questions.
