Description:
Icones Principum Virorum - From the collection of the Count of Arenberg. Portrait of Johannes Ravesteyn, half-length, turned to left, with short hair, moustache and beard, wearing a buttoned doublet, ruff and cloak, and resting his right hand on a fragment of stonework, his left concealed beneath the cloak; sixth state before burnishing of the initials of Gillis Hendricx, below the portrait, in two lines of Latin: "Ioannes van Ravesteyn / Pictor Iconvm Hagæ Comitis.". Lettered in portrait lower left "Paul. Ponsius sculp.". Lettered in lower margin with further production details: "Ant.van Dÿck pinxit.", "cum priuilegio" and the initials 'G.H.". after Anthony van Dyck
