Historical and military study devoted to one of the principal conflicts of the 19th century, the Crimean War (1853-1856). Its author, Captain Franz Crousse, Belgian staff officer and recognized military historian, distinguished himself with several studies devoted to contemporary European campaigns.

In this study, Crousse traces the military operations that pitted Russia against the coalition formed by France, the United Kingdom, the Ottoman Empire and the Kingdom of Sardinia. The work examines the main campaigns of the conflict, the siege of Sevastopol, the organization of the armies and the military and diplomatic consequences of the war.
