This large and impressive work by Charlotte Molenkamp immediately draws attention. Dynamic abstract shapes and bird-like figures seem continually in motion. The painting breathes energy, rhythm and freedom.

From 1971 to 1975 Molenkamp attended the Academy of Visual Arts St. Joost in Breda. From 1977 to 1979 she followed a course in drawing and painting at the Tilburg Academy for Visual Formation. Molenkamp spent several years in Utrecht in the 1980s. She currently lives and works in Tilburg. Born into an artist family, Charlotte Molenkamp decided in 1971 to pursue an artist’s training.
After completing her studies in Tilburg she found a part-time job as a drawing and art history teacher, while focusing on her own work. In 1980 she began in Utrecht, in her own home, making gouaches. In 1983 she moved to Tilburg, where she has a studio near her house. There she began making paintings with oil paint. Exhibitions and awards: Charlotte Molenkamp’s first exhibition was in the Schouwburg in Tilburg, following her winning a painting competition. Her first exhibition of oil paintings she held together with Eugène Brands in a gallery in Eindhoven. Her work is included in various corporate collections, including those of ABN Amro, Philips, Interpolis and Rabobank.
Even the Royal Family owns works by Charlotte Molenkamp. She exhibits annually in and at various national and international galleries and art fairs.
