Support: high-quality embossed card support.
Conditions: good preservation; reliefs and retouches intact, some minor signs.
Dimensions: 21.5 x 22.2 cm.
Note for collectors:
This is a hand-retouched print, not an original artwork by the author. The retouching adds depth and a unique appearance to the piece. Ideal for collectors of vintage prints and decorative pieces.
In the first print, 'Scheherazade' and 'Barbizon' refer to two costumes designed by the artist Léon Bakst for 20th-century ballets.
Scheherazade refers to a costume for a 'black boy' in the ballet 'Scheherazade'.
Barbizon refers to the costume for 'Aladdin's Lamp,' another show for which he designed costumes.
In the second print, the image shows a sketch for theatrical costumes, titled 'Phèdre et Thésée', created in 1923 by Leon Bakst. This drawing is a design for a ballet or a theatrical work, illustrating the classical mythological themes and the dramatic emotions of the ancient Greek story.
The artwork depicts the mythological characters Fedra and Teseo.
Leon Bakst (born Lev Samoylovich Rosenberg) was a renowned Russian costume designer and set designer, known for his work with the Russian Ballets of Diaghilev.
The drawing is characterized by vivid colors and decorative motifs, typical of Bakst's style, who revolutionized theatrical design at the beginning of the 20th century.
Please review the photographic gallery carefully, as it is an integral part of the description, to avoid any unpleasant misunderstandings.
Careful packaging and shipping with tracking.
