Description from the seller

A rare example of the so-called "White Negress", in the same direction as Rembrandt's original made in 1630, depicting the portrait of an unidentified woman, half-length, almost in profile and facing left.
Sheet with very small margins, on laid paper, in excellent condition (see photo).
Undated and unsigned, it comes from a 19th-century edition that reproduces Rembrandt's work.
Previously attributed to De Haen (Hollstein), it seems more convincing to recognize its authorship as Rembrandt (Hind, White & Boon).
From a private collection.
for the hour. Hind 364; White & Boon, 357; NH(Dutch & Flemish), 56; Hollstein (Dutch & Flemish), 2.
