This artwork was created by Salvador Dali after a
gouache he created specifically for this edition.
The artwork was lithographically reworked and
corrected by Dali himself. These lithographic
reworked images were authorized by Dali to be
used in this edition

THE SHEET IS AN IMPRESSIVE 90x63 CM - IMAGE 74x55CM

The worldwide tirage outstanding was limited to an
Edition of 300. This exemplar is number 137/300.

Printed on heavy archival wove paper by DRAEGER (prints) and
MATTIEU (for the shield/ ecusson in intaglio). Editor: JEAN
SCHNEIDER, Basel, Switzerland.

The handsigned exemplars are "AVANT LA LETTRE" which
is French for "BEFORE THE LETTER". Ultimately the ALSACE
image was used for the FRENCH RAILWAYS S.N.C.F. travel
posters and text was added to the editions which
were on different paper and were also larger editions.

This is a beautiful and rare piece to find in such a
perfect condition!


This 55 years old lithograph is in excellent condition
with full bright colors and no foxing, or stains.
Very minor traces of previous matting, very minimal
damage to the bottom edge of the paper.
This artwork is suitable to be float framed
in order to display the entire beauty of this fine artwork.


The handsigned exemplars are extremely rare and are
considered Fine Art investments which will beappreciated
as long term assets for generations to come.
