Description from the seller
Released in 2001 to commemorate Portugal’s switch from the escudo to the euro, the Tissot Escudo is an elegant watch limited to just 2001 units. It features a brushed silver dial, Roman numerals, subtle details that give it character without being flashy.
At 40mm with a slim case and domed acrylic crystal, it wears comfortably and looks sharp anywhere. It’s powered by an ETA 2824-2 automatic movement. Reliable, Swiss, and perfect for numismatics.
This example comes with the original wooden presentation box (the faux leather lining is starting to fall), which includes a Portuguese 1968 escudo coin, a neat detail that ties it to the occasion it was built to mark.
Condition: Very good. Light wear on case and bezel from normal use. Dial and sapphire crystal are clean. Minor hairline scratches on the case. The leather lining of the box is starting to fall, which is extremely common with these Please see the pictures for full condition and clarity.
Case size: 40 x 48mm stainless steel case with a thickness of 10.7mm and a lug width of 20mm.
Crystal: Acrylic, no scratches or markings.
