Karel Dujardin (c.1626-1678) - Due tavole originali - La pecora e le mosche e Due maiali

Rare original engraving by Karel Dujardin depicting a semi-reclining sheep.
Specimens with very small margins, on rag paper, one with watermark, in good condition (see photo).
Signed and dated at the top left 'K DU IARDIN fe/ 1655', in the second state, the first with the number '38' at the bottom right corner, the second with a very small repaired lacuna in the same corner where the number '15' from the series 'Studi di animali' was located.
Depicted in the first scene is a landscape with a sheep lying down, flies around its head, viewed from three-quarters with its head turned to the right, the cloak partially lost, a shepherd with a sheep in the distance. In the second scene, in the foreground, there is a sleeping pig, and further away, another pig seen from behind, eating. On the right, there are shrubs; on the left, a shed, perhaps a barn, with a tree beside it.
