Description from the seller

Etching, printed in brown ink.

Fine impression on laid paper with contemporary watermark (letters and coat of arms).

Bartolozzi etched this image soon after he moved to England in 1764, as part of a group based on Guercino drawings owned by King George III. This and a number of other prints engraved after drawings by Guercino were re-published in folio by John and Josiah Boydell in the 1790s, after they acquired the plate from Richard Dalton in 1791-92.

Condition report: Traces of mounting and pencil annotations on the verso. Small stains, otherwise excellent.
