Description of the work
Lithograph depicting a young classical hero in a contemplative pose on the beach, with his hand to his forehead in an observation gesture. The semi-nude figure, wrapped in a turquoise drape, wields a spear and stands out against a metaphysical landscape: blue sea, bright sky, and a Greek temple (probably the Parthenon) in the background. The delicate palette alternates shades of blue, ochre, and pink-orange applied with lithographic technique. At the hero's feet lie fragments of classical ruins, symbols of ancient memory. The work synthesizes De Chirico's return to classicism with the unchanging, suspended, and dreamlike atmosphere of his poetry, blending Greek mythology and metaphysical aesthetics into an atemporal vision of heroic beauty.
