Olav Vorsel (1922–2007), Untitled, 1999, oil on canvas, 64 × 50 cm, original edition, signed on the back, Netherlands as country of origin, in good condition with a few paint damages, sold by Galerie.
Description from the seller
Olav Vorsel (1922–2007) was a Dutch artist who chose to pursue an artistic career only at the age of 47, driven by a strong inner necessity to express his worldview through images. His work, influenced by a turbulent youth and profound life questions, consists of expressive paintings with impasto layers in which both social and psychological themes resonate.
Vorsel began his career in the book world, where he worked as the director of Van Ditmar publishing house. In the late 1960s, he gained the freedom to dedicate himself to introspective writing and painting. Gradually, his paintings evolved from free forms to sharp lines and geometric abstraction, a development he documented in detail himself.
This oil painting on canvas by Olav Vorsel is signed on the back. The work has a few paint damages.
Viewing is, of course, possible. Additionally, we have our own in-house framing workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary. Furthermore, we collaborate with restorers from the professional organization: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you wish to make use of this service, we would of course be happy to hear from you.
