Dési van Rhee

This silver bowl is a truly remarkable decorative piece, crafted in 833 silver, a high-quality alloy known for its durability and rich, warm tone. With a diameter of 26 cm and a substantial weight of 392 grams, it has a satisfying presence—solid yet elegant, making it ideal as both a functional object and a centerpiece.

The design is exceptionally ornate. The bowl features a flowing, scalloped shape, almost like petals unfolding outward, giving it a natural, organic rhythm. Each section is richly decorated with raised floral motifs—delicately sculpted flowers and leaves that seem to bloom from the surface of the metal. These details are not flat or stamped; they are deeply worked, creating shadows and highlights that bring the decoration to life. The craftsmanship suggests careful hand-finishing, where each curve and texture has been thoughtfully refined.

At the center, there is a smooth, rounded dome, contrasting beautifully with the intricate patterns around it. This polished center reflects light like a mirror, enhancing the bowl’s visual depth and making it catch the eye immediately when placed in a room.

In a classic living room setting, this piece becomes more than just an object—it becomes a statement. Placed on a wooden table, perhaps over a lace or embroidered cloth, it adds a sense of refinement and timeless charm. The reflective silver interacts beautifully with warm lighting, creating a soft glow that elevates the entire space.

Functionally, it is versatile:

Some people use it as a candy dish, where colorful sweets contrast with the cool silver surface

Others place fresh flowers inside, turning it into a unique floral display

It can also stand alone as a pure decorative centerpiece, requiring nothing else to make an impression

What makes this bowl truly special is the balance between art and utility. It is not just decorative—it tells a story of traditional metalwork, elegance, and taste. Whether used daily or reserved for special occasions, it brings a sense of sophistication and history into the home.

Overall, this is not just a bowl—it is a statement of style, craftsmanship, and timeless beauty, capable of transforming any living room into a more refined and inviting space.
