Bactrian Bronze Tripod Kohl Jar

This nice bronze kohl vessel stands on three short integral legs forming a tripod. The body is rounded with a sharp shoulder and a tall conical neck that rises to a small everted rim with a recessed mouth.
Kohl, a cosmetic substance of powdered or paste-like form, dark in colour. Primarily composed of substances like lead sulfide or antimony, kohl has been used as eye makeup. Kohl has been utilized by individuals across different societies, serving both cosmetic and cultural purposes, such as reducing sun glare and protecting the eyes from infections.
