Night Periscope type AN/VVS-2 (V) of an American M1 Abrams tank. The periscope was made by Optechs Korea. The BA1567/U battery the periscope needs is still available and this night periscope is probably still usable (it is in good general condition). The last picture shows visibility at night (photo is not of this viewer). All components of the periscope are provided with serial number.

Dimensions: 44 cm long and 15 cm wide (the depth is 16 cm). Weight is 7.5 kg.

Rare piece of high tech material, from a private collection.

The M1 Abrams is a heavily armoured and powerful American tank, which is also suitable for biological and nuclear warfare. It is named after General Creighton Abrams (1914-1974) and became especially known during the Gulf and Iraq war. The M1 is capable of eliminating targets at a distance of 3000 metres. This makes it superior to the Soviet tanks T-72, T-62 and T-55 of the Iraqi army.
