Specimen on an oval flan, centred on both sides. Beautiful lion head. Very beautiful reverse, well struck.  Grey patina, slightly grainy.

Obverse side: Lion protome facing right with mane, mouth open, 
tongue hanging out. 
Reverse side: Four-pointed star, richly ornamented, all in 
a hollow square.

colonies it founded, more than seventy, in particular on the shores of 
the Black Sea. It dominated the Mediterranean Sea for some time, 
went up against Alexander and later became a great 
Roman city.  Some legends attribute the foundation of this 
city to Miletus, the son of Apollo.
