Title: Ultra Rare A. Lange&Sohne 18k 1A Quality Diamond Cap Civil War Interest Pocket Watch/Gen. Wells Family
Description:  For your consideration is one of the most breathtaking examples of A.Lange&Sohne Pocket watch you will ever see.  Original Schumann 18k Gold Case.  They were the sole importer of A.Lange&Sohne to the United States.  An unusual setting mechanism that sets easy with one lever, and the other lever takes it back to winding upon closing the front lid.  We bought this directly from the great great great grandson of General William Wells.  Look him up on Wikipedia, he is a well known General during the civil war.  Heavy watch, 129 grams.  Diamond Capped Jewels.  When we visited the A.Lange&Sohne museum in Germany, we were told that they only made the nickel plated watches for the US market. Comes with the Certificate from the Glashuette Deut ches Uhren Musem and a copy of the Original Manufacturing File from 1884. Runs very strong, keeps decent time.  A beautiful Dresden masterpiece.  The dial has a flake/repair.  See all pics.
