Luxman L-510 in mint condition

Nicest amplifier or at least one of the most beautiful amplifiers Luxman has ever built.
As many detailed photos as possible were made from all possible angles and with different lighting and camera lenses to show that it is an absolutely spotless device without signs of wear, which was maintained with a lot of love and attention.
The interior has been cleared of dust annually and the beautiful wooden case has been treated with furniture oil regularly.


The L-510 is the smallest model from the Status Series introduced in 1982 which also includes the L-530 (identical in design with increased class A power) and the L-550 (100% class A).
That the L-510 is the smallest model need not be a disadvantage.
The L-510 works up to 2 x 8 watts / 8 ohms in class A 
and is therefore significantly less hot than the L-530 (2 x 15 watts / 8 ohms in class A) or the L-550 (2 x 70 watts / 8 ohms class A).
Both larger models are therefore much more sensitive to interference (I can say from experience).

The last photos are scans of an article published in the German STEREOPLAY from October 1982.
It is a comparative test of 8 top-class amplifiers.
The Luxman, in a field with:
- Denon PMA-950
- JVC A-X77
- Marantz PM-6
- Marantz PM-8
- Pioneer A-9
- Sansui AU-D9
- Yamaha A-1060
was tested as the best along with the Denon and the Yamaha.
The “immer grundliche” German testers speak well of all amplifiers and say that the best ones sound better than many a twice as expensive imposing pre/power amplifier combination.
