Typewriter from Oliver, model no. 9. This machine dates from 1920 and has serial number: 834235. Made in the USA, but intended for the English market.
The typewriter itself and the carriage have the same serial number and thus they originally belong together. The carriage is wider than usual, which makes this a very special typewriter.
The typewriter has been cleaned in its entirety, inside and outside including the hammers. The Oliver has been oiled in the recommended places. Everything works properly (even the bell and the ’back-space’). A new ribbon has been placed, good for many hours of joyful typing.
All of the parts are original, such as the wooden ribbon coils, the carriage hook and the ribbon coil lids.
The only part that is not original is the carriage-cord trap. This I have recreated based on the original.
